Glycolic Acid Peel – Medical Grade
Glycolic peels are recommended for women and men whose skin show early signs of aging and for those who are dealing with acne. Glycolic peels will, over a series of treatments, reduce the uneven tone, decrease the hyperpigmentation caused by sun damage, soften fine lines and help clear acne.
Glycolic acid loosens the superficial cells and sloughs off dead cells leaving the skin with a refreshed and healthier look. At Synergy Advanced Medical Aesthetics, we use medical grade glycolic acid peels starting at the concentration of 30%. A series of 5 treatments of increasing strength of glycolic acid from 30-50% is usually recommended. The treatments are usually done 7-10 days apart.
Treatments take 20 minutes and are very comfortable. You will feel nothing more than a slight tingling sensation. It leaves your skin with a radiant glow. Your skin may seem dry for a few days after the treatment while the dead cells are sloughing off.
In order to maintain the rejuvenating process of your skin, it is recommended that you use a daily glycolic-based specialized skin product adapted to your need. Some individual should use a hydroquinone-based product to reduce the brown pigment in their skin. This can be discussed during your initial session.
