There are
many treatments for moderate acne including creams, washes, and medications –
both mild and strong. Sometimes, for various reasons, these medications or

There is
now a treatment available that doesn’t depend on medication. The combined
energies of Elos - natural photodynamic therapy utilizing blue light and infrared with

BLUE LIGHT LASER AND LEVULAN KERASTICK
A type of photodynamic
therapy or PDT, this treatment is a combination of blue light with Levulan – a
topical aminolevulinic acid HCl. First the skin is cleaned off with an acetone
to remove the dirt and dead skin, and then the topical Levulan is applied.
Levulan is taken up by the bacteria in the oil glands and converted into a
substance that is sensitive to light. Once absorbed by the blue light from the
laser, this bacteria is destroyed. Using the Levulan Kerastick will expedite
the blue light laser treatment for acne, thus reducing the number of sessions
needed.
